Herxheim bei Landau – Bandkeramik außerhalb der Grubenanlage
Die bandkeramischen Fundstellen der Gemarkung Herxheim außerhalb der Grubenanlage, von denen Lesefunde und Grabungsmaterial vorliegen, waren 2008 Gegenstand einer Magisterarbeit. Basierend auf der umfassenden Keramikbewertung erfolgten die relativchronologische Einordnung dieser Fundstellen und darauf aufbauend eine Modellierung der Siedlungsprozesse, die sich wahrscheinlich über die gesamte Dauer der Bandkeramik im linksrheinischen Gebiet erstreckten. Der Schwerpunkt der Analysen liegt auf einem 2001 ausgegrabenen zweiphasigen Hofplatz im unmittelbaren Umfeld der Grubenanlage. Dieser datiert, nach dem Motivrepertoire zu urteilen, an das Ende der Bandkeramik und war möglicherweise noch zu einem Zeitpunkt belegt, an welchem bislang, abgesehen von der Grubenanlage, in der Südpfalz keine Siedlungsaktivitäten mehr nachgewiesen sind.
Abstract
Herxheim near Landau – pottery of the LBK (Linear Pottery culture) outside the pit enclosure
Apart from the famous pit enclosure of Herxheim/Palatinate several early Neolithic settlement sites, known only from surveys and few excavations, have been identified in the general area. The associated pottery indicates that these settlements persisted during the entire period of the western LBK culture (west of the river Rhine). Using correspondence analysis it was possible to develop a relative chronological order of the pottery allowing for further interpretations of settlement processes. A two-phase farmyard (Hofplatz) near the pit enclosure – excavated in 2001 – is described in detail. The repertoire of motifs from this site showed characteristics of the final LBK. It is possibly that this farmyard was occupied until the end of the final LBK, for which time in the southern Palatinate settlement activities had as yet only been documented at the pit enclosure of Herxheim.

Herxheim près de Landau – céramique rubanée à l’extérieur de l’enceinte
Les sites archéologiques situés à l’extérieur de l’enceinte rubanée de Herxheim/Palatinat, ont livré du matériel de prospection et de fouille qui a fait l’objet d’un mémoire de master en 2008. Une étude détaillée de la céramique a permis la datation relative des sites et une interprétation des processus d’occupation qui semblent d’avoir persisté pendant toute la durée du Rubané pour la rive gauche du Rhin. Cet article résume les résultats principaux de ce mémoire de master en insistant sur la présentation d’une cour (Hofplatz) occupée pendant deux phasese et située près de l’enceinte mise au jour en 2001. D’après les décorations de la céramique, ce site date de la fin du Rubané. Peut-être la cour était-elle encore occupée pendant la dernière étape de cette phase, le seul site documenté pour cette période pour le Sud du Palatinat est l’habitat de l’enceinte de Herxheim.
