TOMBA
One of the multilingual, EU-funded databases on the rich burials of the Bronze- and Older European Iron Age (ca. 2400/300 – 480/50 BC) with different search options and comprehensive bibliography.

CalPal: Paläoökologische und paläoklimatische Daten
The database combines radiometric data (14C) with archives of palaeo-ecological and palaeo-climatological data. CalPal facilitates the calibration 14C-dating, which can be used in direct comparison with calendar scaled climate and environment data. (In cooperation with the University of Cologne’s Institute for Prehistory).

Transformation
In the EU-research project, „Transformation“, a multilingual database is being compiled. One of the EU-funded databases, it provides a detailed and elaborate portrayal of the Romanization process in the northern border province of the Roman Empire from Britain to the Black Sea as well as the expansion of Mediterranean way of life on the bordering barbarian settlements including extensive bibliographies.

NAVIS I
This international image-database on European ship archaeology can be searched in eight European languages and currently contains information on more than 100 ancient ship finds. The research is carried out with regard to historical, technical and regional aspects.

NAVIS II
This international image-database on European ship archaeology can be searched in ten languages and currently contains information on more than 1500 ancient ship finds. The research is carried out with regard to historical, technical and regional aspects.

In addition to the databases NAVIS I and NAVIS II, the image-database NAVIS III presents more than 600 Roman imperial coins from the collection of the RGCM depicting ships. The pieces can be queried with regard to ship characteristics as well as chronological, geo-graphical and numismatic criteria. A special layout permits the simultaneous study of up to four coins.

Mausoleums of the Tang-Period
A multilingual database (Mandarin, Taiwanese, English and German) on the most eastern group of Tang-period imperial burials near Xi’an (618-907 AD). Photographs of the sculpture-lined procession paths as well as photogrammetric images of the sculptures can be viewed online. The database also contains maps provided by the Institute for Space-Oriented Information and Measurement Technology of the Mainz College for Applied Sciences. .

Databases
In cooperation with several European partners, online multilingual databases were created to serve as a foundation for further studies. Most of these databases (image-databases, etc.) were developed within the framework of international research projects funded by the EU.
