Guided tours and Family Sundays

Public Guided tours

You can regularly take part in our public guided tours at the Museum of Ancient Seafaring. Every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month we have guided tours at 3 pm on changing topics. The always up-to-date overview of our tours can be found in our event calendar (in German).

Duration: approx. 60 minutes

Family Sundays

Every last Sunday of the month, the RGZM hosts a family Sunday in the Museum of Ancient Seafaring: From 10 am to 1 pm, we invite you and the entire family to join us in the museum. There is a thematically changing workshop and short tours for children and adults. All dates can be found here.

Participation fee: 3, - € p.P. (reduced: 2, - €)
Family ticket: 6, - € (2 adults with up to 3 children)

The entrance to the museum is free!

Meeting point is the entrance area of the museum.
A registration is not necessary. Subject to change.

Guided tours for blind and visually impaired people

Feel - Perceive - Understand
The Mainz Roman ships tactile

The history of ancient Mainz and its Roman ships can be palpated using tactile maps, braille texts, handouts and 3D models and can be experienced in a joint conversation.

We recommend in advance a telephone consultation, since the museum is accessible only to a limited extent.
In the entrance area there is a tactile museum plan.
The guided tours are tailored to the participants.

Companions are free.
Guide dogs are welcome in the museum.
